President/Founder
Wenqing Perner serves as an expert with the IUCN SSC Orchid Specialist Group and the IUCN SSC China Species Specialist Group, a Senior Advisor for Huanglong National Park, and President of Hengduan Mountains Biotechnology Ltd.
In 1998, she and her late husband, Dr. Holger Perner, joined the cooperative project International Trade of Chinese Orchids, a partnership between the CITES Secretariat and the Chinese State Forestry Ministry, where she oversaw international trade activities. As Senior Advisor for Huanglong National Park, Ms. Perner focuses on nature conservation initiatives. In 2003, she and her husband founded Hengduan Mountains Biotechnology Ltd., a company specializing in the propagation of Paphiopedilum and Cypripedium species. The nursery exports to Europe, the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and other regions, and is the only commercial nursery in China authorized to export App I Paphiopedilum.
