Learn, Share & Grow Together

NCOS member meetings are a great way to learn more about orchids, connect with fellow growers and share your enthusiasm for orchids. Whether you’re growing your first orchid or have been growing for years, you’ll find something to enjoy and learn.

Meetings feature educational programs presented by experienced growers, orchid experts and guest speakers on a wide range of topics—from culture and growing techniques to specific orchid genera, conservation and more.

When & Where

Member meetings are held on the third Monday of the month, except in February, June, July and September, at North Chevy Chase Christian Church, 8814 Kensington Parkway, Chevy Chase, MD 20815. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.

Members may attend meetings in person or virtually.

Member Show Table

One of the highlights of each meeting is our Member Show Table. Members are encouraged to bring orchids currently in bloom to display, giving everyone an opportunity to see what’s flowering in other members’ collections and learn from one another.

Plants are entered in categories representing a wide range of orchid groups, such as Cattleya, Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum and Phragmipedium, with consideration for different growing environments and levels of experience.

A group of members reviews the entries and awards ribbons. But, the Show Table is really about sharing and learning. It’s a fun way to see what others are growing, exchange tips, ask questions and celebrate each other’s successes.

Show Table entries must be submitted by 7:30 p.m., when judging begins.
