Annual Paphiopedilum Forum

The Annual NCOS Paph Forum will feature internationally-renowned speakers, an unparalleled selection of Paphiopedilum and Phragmipedium plants for sale by leading vendors, a show table featuring hundreds of slippers in bloom, ribbons, and trophies for outstanding show plants, door prizes, and American Orchid Society judging.

Registration Information

  • Slipper orchid show with ribbon judging, American Orchid Society awards, and review of plants
  • Slipper Orchid Alliance-sponsored People’s Choice Award and silent auction
  • World-class speakers and vendors
  • Special drawings and door prizes

Registration includes lunch; pre-registration is strongly recommended to ensure space and lunch availability.  The entry fee also includes a door prize ticket.

NCOS Member Plants Sales: Members current on NCOS 2023 dues and pre-registered for the Forum may sell slipper orchids.

Plant Exhibition Information

One of the Paphiopedilum Forum’s extraordinary features is the large variety of fine blooming slippers on the exhibit table.  Everyone is encouraged to bring in their blooming slipper orchids for display.  There are special drawings for prizes for registrants who bring show plants.

As the Paph Forum is an AOS-sanctioned event, all plants exhibited at the Forum will be considered for AOS judging.

Our membership is made up of growers with a wide range of experience who share best practices and help each other. By becoming an active member of our community, you will have the opportunity to discuss how to grow these wonderful plants with other orchid growers, be provided access to plant stock from growers around the country and from the collections of other members, and receive regular communications about local events, activities, and orchid culture.

Member Meeting Submissions

Bulbophyllum species - no name. A single inflorescence with over two dozen small yellow flowers. The inflorescence curves down from the bottom of a pseudobulb. The flowers are tightly packed along the length of the inflorescence.
Bulbophyllum no name, possibly grandiflorum. The three sepals are large and yellow. The sepals cover the lip from view. The two petals are small and yellow.
Phragmipedium Hannah-Popow type (no name). A single pink flower. The pouch is a dark pink color. The two petals are dark pink on the top half and a lighter pink on the bottom half. The dorsal sepal is also pink.
Phragnipedium Grande-type (no name). A single flower with two long dangling pink petals. The pouch is a light brown with a white center with brown spots. The dorsal sepal has ruffled edges and is a very light green color.
Brassia no name. A single inflorescence with over eight large spidery flowers. The lip is a light yellow with dark spots. The petals and sepals are long and skinny. They are a mid green with dark brown spots.
Phalaenopsis no name. A single flower. The lip is yellow and purple. The petals and sepals are yellow overlaid with an orange and purple blush.
Dendrobium no name. A single inflorescence with six flowers. The lip is mostly purple with a white center. The petals and sepals are purple.
Cattleya no name. A plant with four large semi-alba flowers. The lip is a steely purple with yellow markings in the throat. The two petals are ruffled. The petals and sepals are pure white.
