Date: Monday, February 22, 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM EST

In this mini-workshop, Ken Meier, will discuss the reasons why we do, what we do, and when we do it. Along the way we will provide a lot of information about growing orchids, helpful hints and hopefully alleviate some of the stress and anxiety of re-potting that every orchid grower experiences. We will talk briefly about re-potting some of the more common orchids found in the market place and provide you with a few ‘secrets’ about re-potting that you may not realize.

Although this presentation was created for the beginner orchid grower, more experienced growers may enjoy this presentation and learn something along the way.

Ken Meier is owner of Orchid Enterprise Inc. – a hobby orchid business in Alexandria, VA.  Orchid Enterprise is closed to the walk-in public, but sells at local orchid shows and events and has an Etsy shop when there are excess orchids to sell.  Ken has been growing orchids for over 40 years, is a judge for the American Orchid Society, and a long-time member of the National Capital Orchid Society serving on their Board for over 17 years.  Ken has traveled to Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Columbia and Thailand studying orchids in their native habitats, learning how they grow and what makes them ‘tick’.  Ken also has a few other interests that he features on his business web page at
